Mail has arrived

Hi,

The era we are living in today is a dream come true —Walt Disney

My Disney Welcome Pack arrived yesterday. I was starting to think it had got lost or something since Kiwi’s received theirs on Monday and a majority of Australians received theirs on Tuesday, but finally the delivery man came on Wednesday when no one was home, so Thursday was the lucky day.

The most exciting fact was that it officially welcomes me to the Disney cast. Yay! It also included more details on my position and pay, but most importantly included the documentation for my visa application.

This means I can now start the tedious USA visa application process.  I am slightly worried I will stuff something up or that I won’t be able to apply for my visa in Sydney and have to go back to Auckland. However, lots of research and paperwork will hopefully quash these concerns – everything will turn out okay.

On Tuesday night the Disney recruiters will be back at uni hosting an information sessions for those of us heading over in January to answer all our questions. I don’t really have any questions though. Apparently in previous sessions others who are also in the role of concierge have learnt that this position requires lots of knowledge on the Disney Parks, Resorts and also Orlando. This just means lots of research and reading, plus learning on the job. Some are worried about this; rather, I view it as a challenge and exciting.

With only 90 days until I leave all emotions (from excitement to anxiety and stress) are starting to kick in! Please let the next 40 days of uni fly by and bring on January the 5th!

So, until the next post consider Walt Disney’s philosophy - fantasy and reality often overlap.

xx
