Everyday continues to provide new opportunities for learning and personal growth whether it is a work, in the theme parks or within the community. I completed Concierge training at Disney University and am presently half way through my on-the-job training. I love the fact that concierge is just an extension of Front Desk Cashier, however, you have greater opportunities to interact with guests and cater for their specific needs when making dining reservations and ticket purchases – ensuring their Disney holiday is magical.
I am now on a roll with study, I have completed three online Harvard Mentor Courses with a list of nineteen more I could do and this week I start my seminar classes on Disney Guest Services and Disney Marketing. Additionally, I had the opportunity to volunteer with Disney at the Give Kids the World Village where fourteen of us College Program Participants spent and evening playing with terminally ill children or their siblings. It was an inspiring evening and I left with goose bumps from their joyous spirits and determination to make the most of what they have. I sincerely hope I get the opportunity to go back and spend more time at this foundation.
And of course, the fun still continues as I am still thoroughly enjoying spending time in the theme parks – for the first time ever Magic Kingdom is opening for 24 hours to celebrate the leap year – so friends and I will be heading to the park at 3am in the morning to celebrate. I am also off to Miami with friends, in ten days time, to spend three days exploring the city, relaxing on the beach (I honestly can’t wait to go the beach) and we may even take a tour to the Everglades for an airboat ride with through the swamps infested with alligators (some adrenaline adventure).
So until the next update, I hope you have a day filled with fun – we can only work so much and it is up to you to decide whether that work is fun and rewarding or just a job that pays the bills and also the extent of our free time.
xx
